Adobe DRM Upgrade for MiGear eReaders

MiGear is now an official licensee of Adobe DRM and all MiGear eReaders can be DRM enabled.

MiGear eReaders now ship with official Adobe DRM license preloaded so you can download DRM enabled ebooks onto your MiGear eReader.

What is DRM and why do I need it on my eReader?

Many of the digital ebooks available are DRM encrypted and you will need an ereader with DRM license to download and open those ebooks.

If your eReader does not have DRM license it will not be able to open DRM encrypted ebook files.

Some of the EPUB files contain DRM (Digital Rights Management). This is a restriction that has been loaded on to the ebook or content by the publisher to prevent illegal copying of ebooks.

How do I know if my MiGear eReader has Adobe DRM firmware upgrade already?

MiGear eReaders that already have the Adobe license DRM firmware preloaded can be easily identified as they have the official Adobe logo on the packaging and the opening screen when you turn on your MiGear ebook reader will feature an Adobe license logo.

If your MiGear eReader doesn't have the logo on the box or the Adobe logo showing when you turn on your MiGear eReader, you can take advantage of a free firmware upgrade using the links on this page.

If you purchased a MiGear eReader that didnt already have Adobe DRM license loaded you can now take advantage of this free firmware upgrade, simply click on the download link that matches the model number of your MiGear eReader (see model number on label on back of packaging or on back of your MiGear eReader):

This is used to upgrade your eReader so it is DRM encrypted (Adobe).

When you turn on your eReader and see the MiGear logo, you should also see the Adobe logo, if you do not see the Adobe logo, the eBook Reader will have to be upgraded.
